How to take care of eyelashes? The best home remedies for thick and long lashes

Make-up is a great way to highlight your look and add volume to eyelashes. However, it’s important to take care of them from the inside as well. Only healthy and strong eyelashes will look good. What are the best home remedies for eyelashes and the skin around the eyes?

Long time ago, when there were not as many cosmetics as today, women also cared about their beauty. They emphasized their eyes and embellished their look in many different ways. Still, proper daily care was always in the first place.

Today, we tend to forget that everyday care and the right amount of ingredients is the best way to beautiful lashes. Mascara will cover up the imperfections at the same time lengthening the lash but once it’s removed, the hair is still weak, thin and short. Only the effects of proper care are durable and natural, although you have to wait for them much longer.

HOME REMEDIES FOR BEAUTIFUL EYELASHES:

Castor oil

Around the world, eyelash oiling is very popular, i.e. applying castor oil on lashes. Naturally pressed oil from organic crops contains a lot of ingredients that are good for your health. It nourishes, regenerates, enhances growth and even darkens and polishes the hair. Unfortunately, it works slowly and is difficult to apply due to its thick formula.

Other oils

The fans of natural care also reach for other plant oils that provide our eyelashes with nutrients and protect them against dehydration and damage. Among the most recommended oils for eyelash oiling are coconut or sweet almond oil with a much lighter consistency and better absorption. Keep in mind, however, that eyelash oils leave a greasy layer which can lower the durability of the mascara applied.

Petroleum jelly

Another great remedy is petroleum jelly, which in cosmetics is most often used to protect against the loss of moisture. On the eyelashes it creates a delicate, thin protective layer thanks to which they retain hydration for longer. Unfortunately, this is another difficult to apply product with rather poor effects.

How about… lip balm?

Even though it might seem like a crazy idea, a protective lipstick can be used to strengthen your eyelashes. Natural lip balm of a good quality is based on petroleum jelly or other substance of plant origin (shea butter, babassu oil) and is enriched with various types of vitamins. Everyday application is a good way to nourish and strengthen the eyelashes. Unfortunately, it will not make the lashes grow faster and the effect will certainly not be spectacular.

Eyelash serum

The method that gives the most noticeable effects, and thanks to this is also the most recommended, is the eyelash serum. A good serum with a light, well-absorbing formula can regenerate and strengthen your hair in just a few weeks. The most important is regularity and a high-quality product. After some time the effect will be visible – thicker, longer, denser and darker eyelashes.
